never a family to really settle down, we decided to spend thanksgiving in new york city. check out the highlights from my short and much needed break...
before meeting up with the rents, i spent the first couple of days with a friend. i hadn't even gotten off the bus when she called me and asked if i had heard of the band "of monsters and men". they were playing at terminal 5 and last minute tickets were available for the next 37 minutes! so of course we had to go. who doesn't love a spontaneous concert ?
and the moment we had all been waiting for...conor oberst. even at 32, he still has it! (except, as a mentioned before, that long hair has got to go). we even snatched the last two posters...it was fate!
the table display at abc kitchen for thanksgiving dinner. committed to offering organic and local ingredients, they offered a unique menu and a chill atmosphere.
the window displays. one of my favorite designers, bottega veneta, had a cute ensemble with pastel colors mixed in with their hand woven leather.
decorations for the winter holidays. harry winston was one of the many on 5th ave that went all out on their building.

when in nyc, it is a must to go to a show. we decided on lion king at the miskoff theatre and didn't regret it. the costumes were amazing and it had its own twist on the interpretation of some of the scenes.
the garage sale at the museum of modern art. at first we weren't sure if it was legit, but it was. as you entered, there was a board that said "what if a garage sale was a metaphor for your mind?" ...mull over that one for a bit...
my brunch at le pain quotidien. just around the corner from our hotel, it was a great find. pictured above is a proscuitto, mozzarella, sun dried tomato, pesto tartine. yum yum
let the next holiday begin!
