farmers' market finds

despite the beautiful produce that the farmer’s market provides our wandering eyes, i enjoy smelling the prepared food. my goal last year was to try food from all the stands, but bound by the chains of “dining dollars” there were many times (aka most of the time) that i didn’t want to spend real money. below is a list of the food that i have eaten so far:
  • falafel.  BEST THING EVER! filled with chickpea falafel, asparagus, carrots, beets, kale, tzatziki, and sriracha sauce, this baby is a healthy and filling way to start your day. this table is hard to find so keep your eyes peeled for a table with no sign.
  • classic biscuit and bacon gravy.  blacksauce always has one of the longest lines in the winter. when you pass by all you can smell is the butter and gravy soaking through the pores of a delicious white biscuit
  • ethiopian samosa. ethiopian delights is the place to go for spreads that you can use on anything and everything. their samosas are filled with potatoes, peas, and a red paste that remains a mystery to me. note: make sure you heat it before eating…something i failed to do the first time
  • banana nutella crèpe. chez g specializes in breads, but in light of their french theme, they serve crèpes as well! made right in front of you, they are smokin’ hot when they hand it to you in a folded aluminum.
check back in for updates!
