if you can't tell from this assembly of ingredients, we had a baking sesh. week 2 was rough, and the best way to round out a week of assignments, club meetings and long lectures was to bake a beautiful batch of chocolate chip cookies!
and all thanks to the presence of a tiny oven in our apartment! however, no microwave lives here yet... so we melt our butter on the stove like an engineer would (technically, we should have cut this butter into skinny slabs, increasing the surface area-to-volume ratio for quicker melting, but that's another post for another somewhat boring blog).

mini chocolate chips make everything better, but you probably already knew that.
find the recipe here! it's quite a good cookie, though we added too much vanilla (we think). you can be the judge, then let us know. :)
