tv roundup

one of the best things about being home for the holidays is to have time to watch movies and catch up on tv shows! here's just a roundup of my viewing experience so far ...

1. twilight breaking dawn part 2
(source)
2. les miserables
(source)
i went to see this last week and was very impressed by it. i have never read it or seen it on the stage, but i think that all the actors/actresses did a great job! (although it took me a while to get used to russel crowe's voice). some of my favorite songs include "on my own", "red and black", and "castle on a cloud" (i love young cosette, isabelle allen)

3. sherlock holmes
(source)
my mom got the first two seasons of bbc's sherlock holmes for christmas and we've pretty much been doing an episode each night. last night we finished season two and it ends with the ultimate mystery! it wasn't until today though, while i was looking through a magazine, that i realized where i had seen dr. john watson (martin freeman) before. he's the hobbit! and after further research, i realized that sherlock (benedict cumberbatch) is also in the hobbit (as well as the upcoming release of star treck: into the darkness).

4. out of africa
(source)
i have been wanting to see this and finally did on new years eve! a long, but beautiful movie. ..and who doesn't love the young robert redford? the horse whisperer, anyone?

5. a beautiful mind
(source)
another movie in our cabinet that i had not seen, but wanted to. sad, but interesting. i love russel crowe and i think he did a great job in making you feel oddly connected to john nash. aaand i found out it was directed by america's very own ron howard (aka opie taylor). now i know all about nash equilbrium! (not -____-)

what have you watched recently?
