it's not officially the holiday season until lighting of the quad...
it's an early december tradition that lures most of the student body out of the library for at least a few minutes. everyone stands together to count down to the illumination of all of the strands of lights twirled around each lamp post in the quad.
10... 9... 8... 7... 6... 5... 4... 3... 2... 1... they set fire to gilman?
nope, just some fireworks... which definitely surprised everyone since it has a reputation of being an extremely anticlimactic experience.

one of my favorite ways to string lights on a tree is to cover practically every branch--so simple... yet so time consuming... but you have to admit, these are sooooo worth it! they're beautiful!
but not as beautiful as my lovely ladies :)
at least with our scarves we can pretend it wasn't 70 degrees out...
here's hoping for a mild winter! *crosses fingers*
